REFUND & EXCHANGE POLICY

All Malgudi Jewels products are handcrafted by skilled artisans, making each piece unique and one of a kind. Due to the handmade nature of our jewelry, slight variations in color, texture, stone placement, shape, and detailing may occur from piece to piece.

Natural stones, pearls, kundan work, and handcrafted finishes may also vary slightly in appearance. These natural and artisanal variations are not considered defects. Every item undergoes careful quality inspection before dispatch to ensure it meets our standards.

Malgudi Jewels maintains the highest levels of hygiene and quality control.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL

All purchases made through Malgudi Jewels are considered final sale. Orders once placed cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded.

At this time, we do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges except in the case where:

  • you receive an incorrect item; or

  • your item arrives damaged during transit.

INCORRECT OR DAMAGED ITEMS

If you receive an incorrect or damaged item, you must notify us within 2 days of delivery by emailing:

malgudijewels@gmail.com

Your email must include:

  • your order number;

  • a description of the issue; and

  • clear photographs of the item and packaging.

Prior to approving any replacement request, our Quality Control team will review the submitted images to determine eligibility.

If approved, we will provide return instructions. Items must be returned:

  • unworn and unused;

  • in original packaging;

  • with all tags attached and unaltered; and

  • in original condition.

Once the returned item is received and inspected, we will ship a replacement item where applicable.

Returns that show signs of wear, damage, alteration, or improper handling will not be accepted and may be returned back to the customer.

RETURN SHIPPING

At this time, we do not offer complimentary return shipping. Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs unless otherwise approved by us.

Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.

If a refund or exception is approved at our discretion, original shipping charges incurred by Malgudi Jewels will be deducted from the refund amount, including orders that originally qualified for free shipping.

We are not responsible for packages lost, stolen, or damaged during the return shipping process.

Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-RETURNABLE CONDITIONS

Refunds, returns, or exchanges will not be accepted under the following circumstances:

  • Items damaged due to customer handling or misuse.

  • Products showing signs of wear, perfume exposure, makeup stains, scratches, tarnishing, or alteration.

  • Minor variations in color, finish, stone placement, or design due to handmade craftsmanship.

  • Natural stone or pearl variations.

  • Sizing issues. Customers are responsible for reviewing product dimensions and descriptions carefully before purchase.

  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses provided at checkout.

  • Failed delivery attempts by the courier.

  • Rejected or refused shipments.

  • Packages marked delivered by the shipping carrier.

  • Delays caused by customs, weather, or carriers.

  • Clearance, sale, promotional, or discounted items.

  • Pre-order items.

  • Gift cards.

  • Earrings for hygiene reasons.

  • Jewelry damaged through regular wear and tear or improper storage.

Please note that fashion jewelry naturally requires delicate care and may tarnish over time depending on usage, moisture exposure, perfumes, body chemistry, and storage conditions.

PRE-ORDER ITEMS

Pre-order items are made specifically for you and therefore cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded once the order is placed.

Estimated timelines for pre-order products are approximate and may vary depending on production schedules and shipping timelines.

CUSTOM ORDERS

Custom and personalized orders are final sale and are not eligible for returns, refunds, exchanges, or cancellations.

Custom pieces are created based on customer-specific requests and approvals. Due to the personalized nature of these orders, we cannot guarantee that the final product will appear exactly as envisioned.

Any modification requests made after production is completed may incur additional charges for labor, materials, and processing time.

In exceptional cases where a cancellation request is approved before shipment, a cancellation fee of up to 60% may apply to cover production, labor, sourcing, and material costs already incurred.

EARRING POSTS & HANDCRAFTED DETAILS

Please note that earring stems/posts are intentionally made from softer metals to prevent breakage. Minor bending during transit is normal and should not be considered damage or a manufacturing defect.

As all products are handcrafted, slight asymmetry and artisanal irregularities are part of the handmade character of the jewelry.

POLICY APPLICABILITY

This Refund & Exchange Policy applies only to products purchased directly through Malgudi Jewels official sales channels and website.

This policy does not apply to purchases made through third-party retailers, marketplaces, pop-up events, or stockists unless otherwise stated.
